Was looking for things to do with the kids tomorrow and came across this rather random item in teh diary:

"Details:
Are you a man who would love to give your wife or long-term partner a style overhaul?

Or perhaps you are a woman who feels like her wardrobe is in desperate need of updating and are willing to let your husband take over.

We are looking for men that would love to treat their wife to a new wardrobe. Perhaps she is so self-conscious about her body that she has all but given up on clothes. Maybe since having children she hasn?t had any time to put herself first and buy some new clothes.

Maybe this woman is you and you would love your husband to pay you some attention in this area.

Do you feel you lack the confidence to wear anything but your comfort clothes?
Maybe your dress sense is super whacky and you?re ready for a change?
Do you feel lost in the wilderness when it comes to style?
Perhaps your husband or partner would prefer it if you didn?t dress so sexily?
Or you feel like your husband or partner doesn?t take any interest in how you look or what you wear?
Would you trust him to pick out some outfits for you?

Plum Pictures (producers of James May?s Toy Stories) are making a new pilot for Channel 4 which gives Britain?s men the chance to pick out the clothes they think would look fantastic on their wife or partner. This may be something you?ve never felt brave enough to discuss but you feel she needs your attention. And don?t panic, our presenter will be with both of you every step of the way!

If this describes your wife or partner we would love to hear from you. "

What do you all make of that then?

Are we not capable of picking out our own clothes now. What are they going to do, lay them out on the bed like I do for my toddler?

Sounds really creepy.

And no, I wouldn't trust a man to chose my clothes.... unless he was Karl Lagerfeld [bad shallow person].

FFS

No wonder I rarely watch TV anymore.

DH isn't brave enough to criticize my clothes and if he did I wouldn't listen anyway.

It is bleurgh isn't it.

Like all of these makeover shows with the added attraction that they are asking men to nominate their partners. "Darling guess what! i think you look shit so have put you in for this show! Here's the first outfit I have chosen for you - a basque, miniskirt and fishnets! off you go and get ready..."

It's going to be like don't tell the bride - the whole point will be that the woman loses control and the (inept, they hope) man will create the conflict that makes good telly by picking out a load of crap. Someone's obviously clicked that instead of seeing people snapping/crying at Trinny or Gok they can create actual problems by making them cross with their husbands instead.

Yeah it's gross.

My ex used to refuse to be seen with me in certain outfits (eg black t shirt with blue jeans) and he sulked if I wore normal (as in, not thongs) knickers or not push up bras.

So, yeah, i can believe this programme exists...

Yeah, it will be a real showcase for men who mistake their women for dolls rather than people.
