Some people on here Wink are obviously very knowledgeable about feminism.

So I was wondering how many have actually studied Women's Studies/Gender Studies and at what level?

I did some feminist ideology as part of my undergraduate degree and was taught by some feminist lecturers although not specifically about feminism.

I would like to do an MA or even a PhD in women's studies but 3 things hold me back:

-There isn't a uni within 2 hours drive that offers either Sad and Angry

-It wouldn't be very vocational, would it? Confused

  • And, I'm ashamed to admit, i'd be worried about how employers would see me if I did. I can imagine plenty of bigoted employers would have warning bells going off on their 'empowered woman' alert and steer well clear of hiring someone they might think is some kind of man-hating anarchist.

I know I wouldn't want to work somewhere like that anyway, but I do have kids to feed.

It depends on what you want to go on and do.
You could study Sociology which encompasses gender as a key theme throughout, but is still regarded as quite lefty.

My psychology undergrad degree had a sexualities module taught by a feminist lecturer which introduced me to feminism

I lecture in Criminology and gender is a key theme in that too.

I really do think though you should think about what you are planning to do with your post-grad studies, what is their purpose, that will obviously impact upon the course you do.
