What are the very best feminist non-fiction books out there?

I'd thoroughly recommend Misogynies by Joan Smith.

It's a straight-forward read with each chapter relating to a different event.

It has adorned my bookshelf for a good number of years now and ia likely to remain.

Happy reading!

Misconceptions was what got me. I got it in a stack of pregnancy books and it outraged me and made me want to find out more.

I like Backlash by Susan Faludi - it was written in around 1990 and talked about how the 1980s saw a real effort to get rid of/neutralise feminism's successes. Chilling stuff and it's all happening again now.

Have a look here sallyseton: astore.amazon.co.uk/thfwo-21

I read Misconceptions during my pregnancy ButterpieBride and I think it very much contributed in me refusing to see my mysogonist Obs - I saw his junior instead in clinics. And on one of my many hospital stays during pregnancy stays I walked off and locked myself in the toilets when the mysognist came round and started talking to me with his woman hating shit. Think I was re-reading The Women's Room on that visit as well :)
