Now I know she didn't "help" womens causes as such, ie equal rights however she was a female in charge of the country.

She proved to both men and other women, that women can be strong and powerful, and women are more than capable of being successful leaders, a mother and a wife.

What do you think?

She was not "a man in a dress". She was a class warrior, who looked after her own. She did not advance the cause of the vast majority of women, and she made many women's lives immeasurably harder.

'I think it will be a long time until we see her like once again.'

Make that never!

'She was a class warrior'

Thatcher was working class. So this comment should actually read 'she was a class traitor'.

Vile woman, nothing feminist about her, and there will be utter joy across much of Northern Britain when she dies.

I am not talking about culture or background (grocer's daughter, wasn't she?). I am describing the fact that she entered and defended the interests of the ruling class.

She was not a man in a dress. Men were not scared of her, many found her extremely attractive and many more voted for her in their millions because she represented a break from the past dominated by grey haired men.

She was admired the world over for taking a bankrupt and moribund country from the pits of despair to being a respected world power again. She was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth.

Socialists need to get over it.

BitOfFun - all politicians defend the interests of the ruling class. The point of the election game is that we think otherwise. And yes, she was the daughter of a grocer, and also a dressmaker.

How interesting.
