Desperate for help with pelvic floor and prolapse

Hiiii!
Right, I'll try to be brief...

Had my child three years ago, labour was complicated, since then I've had issues with needing a wee all the time. At the time, a consultant said my pelvic floor was a 3/5. She sent me for acupuncture which didn't work, and gave me exercises to do (I saw her over 5 sessions, and it was only the 5th that she said not to tense stomach when doing the exercises AND that the acupuncture should feel a bit tense - so it was kinda of all a waste of time). Since then I've had medication - not worked, used a perifit - not worked, used eggs - not worked, continued to do the exercises - not worked. AND TODAY I NOTICED A PROLAPSE!! Something is sticking out! I was a very healthy woman who used to workout a lot, for three years I've not been able to do anything. I've now been on a waiting list for a year to see a urologist again.

Has anyone got any advice?? Should I go private?

absolutely go private. I had pelvic floor issues and was seen by an NHS physio, it was helpful but they're obviously stretched and it just didn't do what I needed it to. So I went private, one session was all I needed it was honestly life changing. Try to get someone recommended, mine was recommended by a fertility acupuncturist, people in these spaces all seem to know each other. You can't live like this and it's definitely worth investing in.

Can I ask @kmbegs how did private physio help?

I hope the dr you are hoping to see is a uroGYNAECOLOGIST?

You possibly need surgery. You need a gynaecologist who deals with incontinence. Urologists tend to work mainly with men.

Has your GP suggested who you should see? If so, do your research and see how many ops they do for women like you and their success rates.

Then, if you are happy with what you find out, make an appt to see them privately.

@JinglingHellsBells
Hi! Sorry I didn't get a notification to replies! I have now seen a urologist. He is going to do a thing where they put something into your bladder and something up your bum (eek) and it tells a computer if you have an overactive bladder. The fact it has been nearly three years and no one has figured that out yet it so frustrating

I hope you get this sorted. I think I too have a prolapse. I have a doctors app in a week and will go from there. I’m petrified and also a bit surprised as over the last year was referred to colposcopy, and gyne for bleeding between periods no one once has mentioned the prolapse. I’ve just downloaded the Squeezy app to try and help me with my pelvic floor exercises. X

I've also been bleeding between periods. How strange. They said it's from the vaccine and/or covid, which has caused a "hormonal blip". I have the Squeezy app and also invested in a Perifit!

@kmbegs can I ask your story? I have prolapse really think I need an operation but in the list for physio. Just don’t see how pelvic floor exercises which I’m already doing will help me. Or is there a lot more to it? Did you have prolapse before ?
