Toe separators for bunions? Realignment

I’ve just bought some toe separators for my bunions and I feel like it makes a massive difference. When I walk around it feels like different muscles are being used and I’m hoping that if I wear them a lot I’ll reduce my bunion or realign myself???? Anyone else used any of these or worked miracles. Luckily mine are mild but I’m starting early and might invest in some vibrams too as I feel way more aligned from the ground up

Which ones did you get?

I have done this too. I’m 44 and have developed small “tailors bunions” on the outside of my feet. They do seem less pronounced already after wearing a separator between the smallest two toes the last couple of weeks x

I tried but they caused me too much pain. I had keyhole surgery (on work medical insurance).

Interesting, the separators go between the last two toes rather than the big toe and the one next to it?

Without wanting to be unduly negative, nothing can reverse bunions except surgery. Wide fitting, supportive footwear can slow the progression but no amount of separators etc can remove the new bone formation that is the actual bunion.

I have had great results with those little socklets with toes. It is a pain getting them on but they seem to align everything. I have toe separators too but they are cumbersome imo. They may not remove a bunion as such, but they can really help.

Yeah- you can place them between any of the toes depending where the issue is.

Yes this is what I am trying to do - slow the progression. Am also making sure to wear wide fitting shoes x

Hi
Does make it better?
I have pain in my foot and a bunion. I wear wide fitting shoes but every day my foot hurts.
I have heard that surgery is quite painful but if it works I might have to consider it.

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 09/07/2026 07:06

Sorry that should say does surgery make it better?

mine are similar but from Amazon. You can place them on any toe

Hallux vallgus is the medical term. Mine is hereditary.

Not at all. I was operated on one and you are under anesthaetic (sp?) for it like any other operation.

Surgery was not painful at all. I had keyhole so maybe that was why. Everyone said it would be painful and it wasn’t. My surgeon said rare to have have pain after.

Read what others have said but yes I think it will help with the pain, it’s like it takes the pressure off and the ones I’ve linked are soft and comfortable

I've got some, there are so good, honestly, it's taken away so much of the pain.
