Advice on HRT after hysterectomy and oophorectomy at 47

I'm 47 and due to have a hysterectomy in the next few weeks. I will be having a total hysterectomy with oopherectomy and I've not been give any advice re: HRT. I am still having regular periods bang on time and no bleeding in between and hysteroscopy showed no abnormal cells but the bleeding is so heavy for the first two days of period. I had severe anameia because of it requiring blood transfusions and iron infusion. I don't want an abalation as it didn't work and nor did Mirena.
I have friends my age but none of them have had a hysterectomy...
I have no clue about HRT. I spoke to my colleagues : One was on HRT 10 years prior to menopause and says it's fsntastic, another colleague suggested I go on it for as short a time as possible. Another colleague has never taken HRT and said it causes cancer and breast cancer.
I'm so confused. All I know is i need oestrogen only HRT to protect my bones. I don't need progesterone.
The more i read about HRT the more confusing it gets, gel, patches, tablets, vag rings? Bioidentical HRT?
I'd like a low dose..
Has anyone been in this situation and where do i go for advice and for HRT Prescription? GP? Hospital? Surgical Team? Do we have to pay for HRT?

Speak to your GP ahead of the op and they will prepare the prescription - your Gynae consultant can also do this.

How are things menopause symptoms wise currently? you'll go into crash menopause immediately after surgery so there isn't the same tapering of hormones as naturally - I had a radical complete hysterectomy at 40 due to cancer so not able to have HRT. Hot flushes started almost immediately on coming round.

GP or the hospital
Oestrogen you usually have a gel or patches (that’s your HRT)
vagina is separate and you can use local oestrogen in a cream or small tablet/pessaries (not full HRT, it’s just a small localised amount, good for your bladder and atrophy)

i use the gel as my skin hates anything adhesive! You can start on one pump and increase as needed

@Flowerpower70 - do you really need your ovaries removed? If you only have atypical hyperplasia rather than actual endometrial cancer more modern advice is to conserve ovaries if possible. I have been through this myself and I'm happy to help further with pros and cons and references to read. Surgical menopause is not to be taken lightly even with HRT. Don't let them talk you in to it but do your own research. Xxx

Thank you I haven't had much help the gynaecologist I spoke to said oopherectomy as I have a 8cm and 5cm cyst in one ovary and a 54mm and a 34mm or something in the other ovary with no abnormal cervix cells and no cancer or abnormal cells in lining but it is 21mm or so bit ok... I'm so confused and worried as family history of osteoporosis
