Anyone used a smart pelvic floor trainer, and are they worthwhile?

Has anyone here used a smart pelvic floor trainer, like Elvie or Perifit? Are they any better than just doing exercises yourself? Any recommendations please?

I think the Tens pelvic floor toner is the absolute GOAT. Use it personally and went from not being able to trampoline without wetting pants to comfortably trampolining

Can I ask how much it costs? Looks very interesting and much more civilised 😂

My pelvic floor muscles were so bad I couldn't do the kegals myself. I can't remember the hospital department now but gynecology sent me to it and they lent you a machine for 8 weeks to do the exercises at home, apparently the majority of women improved enough to be able to do the kegals themselves. I bought one myself to continue using at home because it was so fantastic. You've made me realise I haven't used it in two years (because I haven't needed to).

It is more expensive than the Tens machine, probably because the hospital(s) use it.

Edit. If you do buy this then for gawds sake start low! Like at a 10 despite the gauge going up very high.

My physio said that the machines are really for women that have muscles that are so weak they can’t do the pelvic floor exercises without them. So they are a good start but they can be a faff with having to insert and set it up etc. if you can manage the pelvic floor exercises without help, then don’t buy the expensive machine.

Apparently this is very good: squeezyapp.com/

With any machine you have to put aside time to set it up, do the exercises with a probe up yourself, then clean everything ready for next time.

I borrowed a tens type machine through a gynae physio and it did help but was a faff.

I think if you can do kegels without a machine then that is so much better as you can do them whenever and wherever you are. I have the sqeezy app which you can set to give you reminders on your phone.

ETA: you can’t really outsource doing the exercises, which may be what you are hoping for? Plus, no machine will give you instant tight pelvic floor muscles. Like going to the gym, it takes time to build strength.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I can do kegels lying down, but not sitting or standing. I have a gynae physio but I'm not seeing her again for a while. The NHS physio was quite dismissive of devices, although she suggested the squeezey app, which is just a timer, isn't it?

I paid £472 for 8 sessions at https://therapieclinic.com
super convenient, in a nearby shopping centre. Easy, non invasive.
i had only 3 sessions so far because stupidly i had also booked for a mirena coil insert and bow ive got to wait for a month. But ive definitely seen an improvement. I no longer get up at night to pee (used to wake up twice), i can walk fast (used to be a disaster), sex has improved. I still have to cross my legs when i sneeze thoughbut perhaps in a few sessions, i wont have to.
i am starting pilates with the hope it will help maintain healthy pelvic and core muscles.
