Endometriosis back and hip pain

I am 34 and had a laparoscopy for endometriosis almost 3 years ago and had a mirena coil fitted at the same time. I have had minimal pain and bleeding since then which has been amazing.

Before my op, I had awful lower back pain for years which I didn’t realise was the endo. Like I’d get into bed at night and my back would spasm, it would be so painful 😭 then I began to get sore/achy groin muscles which I initially put down to lack of exercise during lockdowns but it was the endo too.

In the last few weeks I’ve noticed the back pain coming back and today in my Pilates class my groin muscles were really painful.

I am wondering if anyone else has had lower back pain due to endo and how you deal with it? Is physio a good idea? I do think my lower back/glutes/abs are pretty weak so I’m definitely going to work on those areas in the meantime.

I was hoping not to have another op for a while yet (I was actually hoping not til early 40s!), but wondering if I should get my GP to refer me to gynae again, knowing the waiting lists are 2 years long it’s probably a good idea to get ahead of the game.

I’m managing my endometriosis with the coil after surgeries and it’s going well. Every now and then I have a day or 2 of familiar pain, like a reduced version of what I had pre-surgeries. But luckily for me, it never lasts. Hopefully it’s the same for you. But defo get your name back on the list of it continues. For pain relief my preference is naproxen and a hot water bottle.

I had really similar back and groin pain with my endo too. Pelvic physio can help a lot, especially for weak core/glutes. I’d probably ask for a gynae referral now though, just because the waiting lists are so long.

I get terrible hip and shooting pains down my legs as my endo is on my pelvis (and elsewhere) - its really horrible and the only thing that helps me is using a heat pad and pain medicine. Ive just got my letter for another surgery which im hoping will give me some relief again 😮‍💨 we're TTC so birth control is out of the question at the moment. Heat really helps me but I understand it can be difficult depending on what you are doing as sometimes you just cant lie there till the pain passes! 💕

Thanks all ❤️

I mostly feel so disheartened, it’s not even been 3 years since the lap!!
