Has anyone ever had surgery to remove scar
tissue/adhesions after having a C-section?
bit of a back story. I had my daughter 5 years ago and since she was born I’ve had painful sex, painful periods and not felt 100% also took a year a half to fall pregnant with eldest. Had ultrasound and blood test all normal.
fast forward I fell pregnant randomly and we had our baby 6 months ago. But I still have that pain during sex and pain during periods and ovulation has got worse.
I went for a mummy mot / women’s physio and she felt my stomach and said I’ve got a lot of scar tissue and gave me a cup to do cupping scar massage with around my stomach. She also said I’ve got recti diastasis so she’s gave me some exercises to do.
But I was wondering if there was a fast way of getting rid of them now I’ve finally got an answer as to what could be causing my pain I want them gone now. On my period tracker it said I’m ovulating today and I’ve felt like crap all day my stomach is like I’m pregnant and I just feel so uncomfortable.

Deep pain during sex is highly indicative of endometriosis being present. It is also a common cause of ongoing painful periods. Any pain that is cyclical in nature and or gets worse up to and including menses should be checked for endometriosis.

Neither blood tests nor ultrasounds will detect it, the usual way it is diagnosed is via a keyhole surgery op called a laparoscopy.

You need a referral to a gynaecologist via your Gp.

@AttilaTheMeerkat i went to a women’s physio and she said she doesn’t think it sounds like endometriosis. And she thinks it’s my scar tissue creating the pain and problems.
im also scared of having a laporoscopy incase they create more adhesions

Any form of abdominal surgery can create adhesions but the only way these can be removed is by surgery. Drug treatments do not touch adhesions once these are formed. You do not want any more surgery then is absolutely necessary but a lap itself is keyhole surgery.

It may be that your c section scar is pulling and or has endometriosis deposits on it and that is causing the pain and symptoms. The surest way of finding out is to see a gynae for further evaluation. Do consider seeing such a person , you do not have to keep on putting up with such symptoms.

I have very similer symptoms and when i had my third csection the surgeon said i had ALOT or scar tissue, it took ages to open me up. He said he detached alot whilst he was in there but said unfortunately the nature of surgery means it would just return. I would definitely get it investigated and your concerns on record.
