Rash on one breast

Anybody have any idea what this could be? Been there nearly 3 weeks and isn't improving. I’ve started using anti fungal 3 days ago and still no improvement.

Itchy ? Ringworm ? Shingles ?

hkathy · 10/05/2026 20:16

ringworm

ChocHotolate · 10/05/2026 20:19

Although it is round it doesn’t look classically like a fungal rash, neither does it look like shingles. After 3 weeks I would advice you to get it reviewed by your GP to exclude anything more concerning

paulhollywoodshairgel · 10/05/2026 20:26

Does it hurt? I had something similar that turned out to be shingles but it was excruciatingly painful.

user2848502016 · 10/05/2026 20:32

I would go and get that checked out by the GP, just to be on the safe side

LoremIpsumCici · 10/05/2026 20:35

I’d go to A&E or demand the GP put you on urgent breast cancer pathway.

It probably isn’t IBC but a rash that grows and won’t go away is the #1 early sign of it. So best to get it checked and ruled out.

Mich1986 · 10/05/2026 20:54

It isn’t itchy and doesn’t hurt no, dont think it’s shingles as I’ve had that before and felt really unwell with it and the rash was different.

Bravo, LoremIpsumCici for mentioning IBC. My mum had Inflammatory BC. Please get checked out ASAP and a mammogram is not suffice (my mum went for regular mammogram's and they were normal.) She had an ultrasound and it showed it... I hope it is not that, but TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. GET CHECKED OUT ASAP. Take care...

thisisyoursign · 10/05/2026 21:10

Another one saying to go and checked out as soon as possible OP for IBC.

MycactusandI · 10/05/2026 21:37

But not via A&E

Agree it should be checked out urgently via your GP.

Why not? If it is IBC it is the most aggressive, fast moving and lethal form of breast cancer. Weeks can make a huge difference.

Hi , I would go to the Dr and get it checked out , can you feel a lump ? I had a small rash on the top of my boob last year but there was a lump under the rash . I was sent on the two week pathway to the breast clinic mine was a cyst but get it checked , 💐

Get it checked. As others have said, a rash with no lump is a sign of breast cancer. It’s much, much more likely to be ringworm but let a GP tell you that - don’t guess and miss something serious.

Because A&E will send her straight back to her GP for review and 2 ww referral to breast clinic if needed. They are not going to get a breast surgeon down to see her. Doing this could infact delay her pathway.

You never see a breast surgeon right away.

A&E is how many people are diagnosed with various aggressive cancers such as IBC, leukaemia, lymphoma.

Plus do you know you have to go online and the receptionist triages who gets a GP appointment not the same day, but the next day or two? You can’t just ring up and see a GP anymore, at least not where I live.

A&E does have out of hours GPs as well as all the facilities for blood tests and breast scans and biopsies. It’s the only way to be sure to see a doctor and get tests within 1 day.

Many survivors talk of chemotherapy starting the day after being diagnosed:

IBC is not regular breast cancer.

It would delay her at all. Even if A&E sent her home with instructions to see her GP, she can tell the surgery that A&E has told her she needs a same day GP appointment. If she just calls, she may not get an appointment for days.

I hope she updates us.
