Persistent slight redness after mastitis antibiotics, normal healing time?

Hi all.
Just finished a seven day course of antibiotics for mastitis. Never breastfed and am not pregnant, youngest is 4. Ive been run down, bloods came back fine but with very low vitamin d levels.
Ive been back to dr and theyve said no to more antibiotics, breast is loads better and j feel fine but its still slighlty red ish and just a little achey. Is this normal and how long should it last? Dr wants be to go back in 2 weeks to make sure lymph nodes have gone down. Feeling a bit hysterical that it could be something more sinister? Anyone else had this xxxx thanks

I had mastitis and it was a bit like this after for a while making me think it was reinfected but wonder if maybe it was just inflammation dying down.

Keep an eye on it to make sure that the red area isn’t getting larger

Thanks both for your replies will keep an eye. It feels so much better than what it did, just this slight redness and ocassional ache. Definitely better though x

So....redness gone down now but still slightly achy. Dr referred me to breast clinic and she can feel either swollen lymph nodes or a lump. Now feeling a bit hysterical and could be weeks before seen. Anyone else get lumps after mastitis?

Mastitis does make breast feel lumpy @Mumz1987so please try not to worry until you have more info.
it seems like you are in the system and being seen. You don’t put your age but probably quite young so fingers crossed it’s all ok for you.
it is hard not to think the worse but keep positive.

Reassuring to know it can cause lumpyness, just want to know now. Thank you xxx
