Tens for incontinence

Has anyone ever used a tens machine with vaginal probe for stress incontinence?

if so has it been successful?

I cannot laugh, sneeze or cough without wetting myself and I’m only 34! I’ve bought one and am a week in of using it but had to pause (time of the month). I’m feeling impatient but hopeful for results!

nhs seemed a waste of time. They just recommended Squeezy and checked every few months what my progress was… which was zero

I'd be interested to hear more about this. I did look into one once but I did have some success with squeezy and was signed off by the physio. What made the biggest difference was wearing my mooncup, which seems to put slight support on the bit that was damaged when I had my daughter.

At @Latenightreader l was interested to read your post re the moon cup helping you with incontinence. Like many of us l also suffer from this when coughing, sneezing etc and although long past meno had considered using a tampon for reassurance. I then read this could be dangerous due to toxic shock etc. The moon Cup is different l guess ( l haven't tried one) as its not absorbant. Have you ever had any problems as it sounds like a great idea!

I once to a physio and she used a tens machine and it was fantastic! Unfortunately it was also quite short lived..
ive tried kegels may times but it seems like it making it worse… the last woman physio i saw was like, ok if it still gets worse in a month time you’ll have to use a pessary…. Well, this is not what i want. (Adding that a pessary would probably have the same impact as a mooncup).
i am debating about a tens machine, i know it is possible to buy one for home use but i wonder about long term impact. Will it just make my muscle even more fragile? Id love to hear about women who have used one for more than a year or two

edited to add: im 50 and ive just been referred for an ultrasound scan to check for fibroids

it seems that finroids can aggravate stress incontinence which may be why my kegels are ineffective…??

This is v interesting about fibroids - I didn’t know this! I was told during my first pregnancy I had one but then it was never mentioned again.

I used my tens for a week but can’t comment as I’ve had to stop because it’s time of the month 🙄

I hadn’t considered it could further weaken in the longer term but at this point I’m willing to try anything. It’s ruining my life. I avoid sex in fear of wetting myself and wear pads constantly. Not how I expected to be in my 30s!!!

I used a tens probe 5 days a week over 3 months but it didn't make any difference to me. I've recently seen a uro gynecologist (referral took a year, but that's another story!) and he was pretty dismissive of them. But then he was pretty dismissive in general so hard to judge... 😔
