so worried, I had a internal pelvic ultrasound and pelvic mri which both found a polyp 1cm in the endometrium, I’m worried coz I have had some bleeding outside my period that it may be more sinister the report did say it was likely to benign but how can I guarantee that, it states to follow
up with a hysterocropy or another ultrasound do I leave it or do I go to see a gynaecologist for advice? Worried anyone had this?

I was told I have one of these when I had an exam abroad. Repeated in the UK two months later another doctor found nothing. I was and a part of me is still worried but it is what it is. Nothing I can do - they are apparently common and can appear and disappear.

Most are benign. They can also disappear with heavier menstrual bleeding (likely what happened to me). Treatment is usually similar to that of abnormal cells in cervical smear.

Go have some exams/tests to calm you down.

From what I have read they are more on an issue if you are trying to conceive or have had multiple miscarriages.

Thank you
yes I think they are common for my age I’m 40 and not trying to conceive, just worried about the spotting etc I’ve had smears and swabs all ok so maybe I go to gynae just to see if they recommend anything

Please don't leave it.. if you need a scan and hysteroscopy at least you'll get some answers.

Go have it checked it can’t do any harm to check it. If it needs to be removed it is straightforward process but it is apparently linked to estrogen.

Are you in the UK or abroad? I had a polyp removed after an ‘abnormal’ ultrasound, it was about 3cms. I’m in the UK and they essentially told me that I needed a hysteroscopy to have it removed and it was also biopsied. The biopsy was normal.

I’m in the uk, worried about the size of it but I’m glad to hear yours was normal but I will make an appointment with a gynae
