This is stressing me out and I don't really have anyone in real life that I want to tell as it will.juat worry them, possibly unnecessarily.
I have had HPV for years, it won't go away. I had a colposcopy a couple of years ago and it was a horrible experience. The doctor told.me.I had an abnormal cervix and he couldn't see in. I was made to feel kike it was my fault!
I was given an 'unsatisfactory' result. I continued to go for smears and now I have 'pre cancerous' cells and was sent for another colposcopy.
It was the same result, they couldn't see in my cervix. I was told to come back in 12 months. The doctor asked how I had my children - I had 2 C sections and he kind of went..mmm that explains it. That was confusing.
Now I am stressed that I could have cancer in my cervix and they just haven't seen it. Can I do anything? Is there any way to see in my cervix

But surely they can give you light sedation ( hyponvil) and have a good examination? There must be some way? Would the HPV VACCINE give you some protection, I wonder? I wouldn’t leave it go… I’d chase em.. sure gynaecologists are in theatre every day.. there must be a way

Thanks for the reply. I did have light sedation last time and it still wasn't possible to see in.
I thought there must be a way too! But how do I get it?

I think it's important not to let them fob you off for another 12 months - for your own peace of mind as well as to find out what's going on so you can get on with treatment.

I've had hysteroscopies before (which sound similar) where I didn't need any sedation etc and then more recently I couldn't handle it at all and got booked in for a GA so I was knocked out completely. Obviously you'd have to wait a while for it (as it requires far more resources and staff), but I'm surprised they haven't suggested that. It was actually so quick and painless afterwards that I wished I'd done it sooner.

I'd call your gynae's office and ask if they can book you in for it under a GA.
