Is diagnosing endometriosis pointless?

Been having some gynae and bowel symptoms so went to GP.
Blood tests showed high ca125 and pelvic ultrasound was normal.
GP has now said it could be endo but there’s no point pursuing a diagnosis and I should just go on the pill.
Is there any point pushing for diagnosis? At least one day every period I worry about leaving the house due to flooding

I would push for a diagnosis and I would also consider contacting the practice manager re this GP.

A pelvic ultrasound is not going to detect endometriosis if it is present and not will a CA125 test which is an inflammation market.

endometriosis is usually diagnosed through a keyhole surgery op called laparoscopy. You may well want to consider going private as waiting lists for gynaecology on the nhs in many areas are miles long.

Surely you have an MRI to be on the safe side with high CA 125?

You need to push for a laparoscopy. My DD suffered for years once she saw an endometriosis consultant that said 100% she did not have it. Eventually she pushed for one and they found she had lots spread around her and had it all removed.

Not without other suspicious symptoms. There are numerous causes of raised CA125 and levels can fluctuate throughout your cycle.

Edited to add. OP definitely not pointless getting a diagnosis. If you have a laparoscopy they can often treat at the same time unless it's extensive and involves other organs

I’ve got a diagnosis - still no bloody treatment on offer. GP probably speaking the truth.

How they treat medical condition with out properly diagnosed?
