I’ve been putting it down to perimenopause but I think it’s probably something else - I’ve tried a picture but my ancient phone isn’t great. My scalp is horrendously itchy all the time, my hai is coming out fast and along my hair line (maybe elsewhere to but I just can’t see it) there are flakey scale patches that are very red underneath. Gp can’t see me for 3
weeks and I’m so impossibly uncomfortable 😢I’ve tried head and shoulders and coal tar shampoo and nothing is helping 😢

Look into using tea tree oil and rosemary oil on your scalp and in your hair. Please research this properly so you use the oils correctly (in a carrier oil etc) as they are very potent! I think you can get some premixed blends.
Rosemary is brilliant for hair and tea tree is good to soothe the scalp. I use a mix of coconut oil, castor oil and rosemary on a weekly basis and if my head gets itchy, I use tea tree instead of the rosemary. I’m all for natural remedies instead of introducing more chemicals into our daily routine!
Also check the ingredients of your shampoo….laurel sulphate I think it is causes hair loss

I was prescribed dandrazol 2% somethimg shampoo. That totally worked for me and I’d tried everything. See if your chemist has that in the meantime.

Ive since managed to dial it back from medicated shampoo all the time and use a ‘normal’ shampoo too, Crichton’s sunshine blonde silver shampoo and conditioner, purple bottle. Got it in B&M but now buy direct in bulk and get it shipped. It’s only a couple of quid if you see it locally it might be worth trying but I’d suggest the prescription one is better if you can buy off shelf or get prescribed.

The gp said my hair was falling out as my scalp was so dry the roots were insecure. This problem hasn’t gone away now my scalp is back to normal. Im still losing hair but I’m putting that down to the bastard menopause. Im trying to eat better and drink water more.
