Hi,

I had my DD 3 years ago, I've always had heavy period, 14 day break then 7 day bleed. I've never had any PMS symptoms, I was just also lacking iron.

I had my period 10 days postpartum and it was heavier, I expected that but I started to have mood swings (depression, irritable, rage, feeling worthless and that no one would miss me).

I was diagnosed with post natal depression and PTSD which I had counselling from and was in a good place. I've now started to notice a pattern, 1 week before my period is due I just lose the plot. The depression starts the intense rage and anger etc, it honestly terrifies me. The week of my period I non-stop cry and convince myself I should give up custody of my daughter because she can do better without me. My period stops and I'm suddenly me again.

Has anyone experienced this?

i definitely get irritable a week before my period and the day before it starts, anything and I mean anything will make me cry but then as soon as it starts my emotions feel fine again. Your moods sound quite extreme and it must really be wearing you down! Everyone is different of course but I’d probably speak to my GP in your shoes they’ll probably get you to have a blood test to check all your hormone levels

I’m in a mum group and someone was talking about PPMD. I had never heard of it before and had a brief google at the time but what you described sounds like PPMD. Although I know nothing about it

I had my DS 3 years ago and since then I'm exactly the same. For the week before my period I'm so fucking angry and snappy. I never used to be like this at all. I was 36 when I had him so I definitely do wonder if I'm heading for peri
