Private gynae MRI London - no referral

Hello, I posted recently regarding my periods suddenly worsening for the last 5 months (insanely heavy, intermittent pain, dreadful back pain, severe bloating etc). I've had another pelvic ultrasound on the NHS which suggested possible Adenomyosis. I would like to try to see if this can be confirmed with an MRI but just want to go and have it done now and not wait around forever for my NHS referral. Has anyone had a private gynae MRI in London that didn't require referral. Would love recommendations please.

Thank you

If you are paying for it yourself you don’t need a referral. Have you investigated how much it will cost? You will have to go through a consultant I think and pay to see them twice - before and then after to get the results.

You can have an mri private and pay for yourself without a referral. It was costly though but for piece of mind it’s worth it, I didn’t go London as there was a private place local to me so worth looking around to where you live too

i have similar symptoms and had every test going I still have symptoms and my mri was fine but that’s a me issue.
i hope you get to get one done soon

My daughter has endometriosis dxd after years of being fobbed off by the NHS & no hope in site. She went to a private specialist for this and had laparoscopic & excision surgery in a Surrey hospital that we both funded. He was excellent. DM me if you want his details. He'll refer you for the MRI. I think it was £400 ISH but didn't show up the endo which was early stage with some self healed areas, she needed the lap. I don't know what can be done for adenomyosis, sorry.
