Can't feel my stomach muscles 2 years after c section

Sitting down at work for a year and generally not being as active has lead to my stomach bulging. Ive got a small area where the muscles haven't gone back together but I'm still not happy.

What can I do?

Can't really give you any advice on your muscles after a C-Section.

Are you a healthy weight? If not losing a few pounds will reduce your stomach.

It won't necessarily work wonders, but trying to exercise more, whether walking, cycling, swimming or exercise classes (obviously other options that could help) will help tone and strengthen your stomach muscles. While doing these, or even just sat down, try and pull and hold all of your stomach in and hold for a while - that might help a little.

I would suggest seeing a specialist women’s physio. You might be able to get this through your GP, not sure, but definitely exists privately. They can check your stomach muscles but also if necessary your internal muscles pelvic floor etc to see if anything is amiss. And give exercises to help.

Yes that's a very good idea. On the NHS, you can self-refer, and then when you do the form, ask for someone who is a specialist women's health pelvic physio. I would do it for a number of weeks, often they recommend up to 12 and then continue it yourself after to keep it up. Also, something like reformer pilates or yoga is very good for core muscles, so maybe start doing those classes, or even just get a mat and follow YouTube videos.
