Thickened lineing anyone with any similar experiences?

I have been suffering with heavy periods for around the last 2 years. i had a internal ultrasound last week and in the report it says The endometrium is thickened measuring 19mm in AP diameter. Within the
endometrial cavity there is a hypoechoic solid focus but with absent
vascularity. This may represent a polyp.

I have a drs consultation next week to discuss the results and I’m thinking all sorts! I have stupidly googled and all that’s come back is the dreaded C word and the thicker the lining the more chance it cold be it! Has anyone had anything similar and what was the outcome? For context I’m 39 and have two children by c section! Thanks :(

Are you seeing a gynaecologist or just your GP, if they decide its a polyp, you might want to ask about getting a hysteroscopy to remove it. In the meantime for your heavy periods ask about a prescription of tranexamic acid or northisterone as they are both used to reduce heavy bleeding, so if you aren't already on that then I'd get on it to manage them.

It's likely polyps, could just be further thickening which can just happen without it being cancer, if you have concerns its better to ask the doctor about them so then you're on the same page.

I have a telephone appointment on the 26th with my gp,

Are you able to do any online forms or request to try ask if you have a prescription for tranexamic acid - even if you say just temporarily to try. During the phone appointment I'd ask for a detailed description of the scan results and whether a hysteroscopy is needed. So make sure you push them about that.

Do you have any other major concerns? Or any other symptoms which are disrupting you?
