Does anyone have Botox in the groin for hyperhidrosis?

My groin is just gross, underwear always damp, can’t wear anything but black trousers, always getting thrush etc - in the recent hot weather it’s become unbearable. It’s so embarrassing.

Asked my dermatologist in early spring re Botox for sweating and he seemed very dismissive. Does anyone have this? Is it effective? I have private healthcare so cost not a major barrier

DD had it in her armpits last year - worked really well but it does wear off after about 6 months and is quite costly (£600). I imagine it would probably be more for the groin area since it’s larger. We have private health insurance too - I don’t think they’d cover it to be honest. We just self funded.

@CantThinkOfAUsername57 did it work completely during the 6 months? I could probably get away with doing it in maybe April annually

It began to wear off after about 3 months (DD didn’t even need deodorant/anti perspirant whatsoever up until then) but there was definitely still noticeable relief up until the 5/6 month mark. It lasts longer in some people than others but from what I’ve heard 6 is the most you’ll ever get out of it.

Annually for summer was the plan for us but then DD discovered DriClor which works really well. Preferable to spending £600 each year! Have you tried it?

Unfortunately DriClor isn’t ideal for everyone. For some people it causes such itching and soreness they end up almost tearing off their own skin.

@Wordless I am sadly in that camp. And that was just the armpits, no way am I putting that stuff near my lady area

Sorry to resurrect this very old thread but just wondering if you had the Botox in the end?? I’m considering it, I read it lasts 6-12 months but obviously it’s very expensive and I would have to travel a couple of hours as no one local does it.
I have resorted to dri clor on the bikini line (stings like mad) but it doesn’t work well anymore and I’m just miserable with the chafing all year but obviously especially in the heat. I sat on a hot leather car seat earlier and I’ve just had enough! So just hoping to hear your experience or if you went another route

No I haven’t had any luck with sorting on the NHS, I’ve been quite sporadic with addressing it though. I did find some feminine powders that help a bit.
