Superdrug HPV test

31andconfused · 12/06/2025 19:08

I'm thinking of doing the HPV test from superdrug. If positive I'll force myself to go to the doctor's if negative I'll relax 😂
I'm just terrified and had an awful experience before

Anyone ever done it? Any positive experiences?

Not interested in people telling me I'll die if I don't go get it done etc...

HPV would be picked up at your regular smear test.
If you have it present, there isn't much your GP can do about it.

I hate smears. Considering doing this too

Not me but my sister did, she told me about it because I was considering it too. She said it was like a tiny tampon. The results came through quickly….she was HPV positive and this was the same as her last smear but the Superdrug test told her that she was positive for HPV 18, hope this helps you OP

Thank you, if it came back positive do they encourage you to go get a smear?

In my sister’s case she was doing it half way through her waiting 1 year since her previous positive smear test, so she had to wait a few more months to go back to her GP. I don’t know what happens if your not due to go for a long time though.

if you’re overdue and positive on a home test I think you can just book in at the GP the same way they accept overdue women coming any time, I was once overdue because life got in the way and they didn’t mind they just made me an appt ASAP.

No problem! I lost a (not related) extended family member to cervical cancer so always a little cautious in our family
