Strep B

Not pregnant, been through two lots of antibiotics and numerous urine tests and ultrasounds. I’ve just been told I have strep b and got more antibiotics.
I wasn’t given any more info and from what I can see online I shouldn’t even have a clue I have it but I’ve been in a lot of pain for months.
has anyone else had this?

I carried Strep B in my pregnancy but no signs or symptoms from it. What is it you actually need to know OP?

I’ve had months (possibly years) of problems several rounds of antibiotics and today they’ve said this. From what I read there shouldn’t be any issues unless there’s another underlying problem but I don’t to my knowledge have one.
I can’t find anyone online that’s had the same situation so I’m concerned.
Ive had many problems the last few years and now I’m concerned I’ll be in this painful loop for years so looking for experience

I wrote that badly. I mean I shouldn’t show symptoms without something underlying but I’m like a symptoms checklist at the moment

Hey OP was it picked up on a urine test? I didn’t test positive for strep b on urine tests in both my pregnancies, but I’ve had quite a few strep b UTIs since. It’s a stubborn bacteria. It goes away
with antibiotics, then comes back after a while. It can be asymptomatic though, in which case you can just leave it (unless pregnant).

OP it may be best you speak to your GP, or whoever carried out the test for you to get the answers your looking for. It's most commonly picked up when tested for in pregnancy and is a bacteria that doesn't normally present many symptoms so I don't think there will be many people in your situation who have answers for you.
There is a Group B Strep charity with a free phone you could always call.

Thankyou that’s helpful, I’m just confused and frankly alarmed in case I have something underlying I don’t know about causing this.
