Piles & vaginal itch cycle

I am in a vicious cycle where 3-4 couple weeks ago my piles flared up. Used cream, started to help. Then got a yeast infection, terribly itchy vagina, changed cream, one got better, then the other. Couple of days relief.

Then it flares again for unknown reason, got some hydrocortisone cream from the pharmacist, tried getting a GP appointment every day this week with no luck. Hydrocortisone cream seemed to help, started to feel normal again. For a day.

Now again today piles flared this morning, and this evening a can feel the vaginal itch creeping in. I guess it's sort of my perineal area, not actually the inside of my vagina but I feel it heading that way.

Help!

I know good fiber diet, water intake etc, I'm trying EVERYTHING suggested on the NHS website.

But please help me break this cycle! I can't stand it any more! Broken sleep nights because it gets so uncomfortable etc. Can't stand the idea of going back there again tonight!

Feel like I just want to shower 24/7 but I think that caused issues the first time because I probably washed TOO much?!

I'm having the same at the moment so watching thread with interest. It's horrendous I fully sympathise. I've been putting Eurax cream on both parts but not sure if you're supposed to use it for that area but I was desperate to stop the itch.
I've tried all sorts and nothing seems to help. I get temporary relief from a cool shower and Simple fragrance free soap.
For the itchy bum I've tried Sudocrem, Zinc Castor cream, hydrocortisone and Aveeno moisturising cream. The Eurax is the only one to kill the itch but it only works for so long.

I have been putting off going to my GP but know I need to!
Sorry to jump on your thread.

Could it be Lichen sclerosus
I suffered with an itch for years, eventually went to sti clinic after years of suffering and they sent me back to GP who refffered me to dermatology

I find talc free talc helps.
ir just kind of dries anything out and soothes itches. Creams just seem to add to the moisture and itch .

Ah I've got some eurax for itchy skin / reactions etc but haven't tried this one.

It's jsut sooo frustrating. I feel disgusting all the time, sometimes give in and have to have a really good scratch, or when I go to the loo just deliberately wipe too hard to get a few seconds relief from the itch. But I know I shouldn't do it!

I can cope with the piles I think but I hate the way it feels like it travels to my other areas.

So sick of it and jsut at such a loss!

As a PP said, could be lichen sclerosis.

Or, if it's thrush, cream won't be enough -- you'd need a once off pill like Diflucan (prescription).

Could also be GSM - genitourinary syndrome of menopause. I developed it in my late 30s when I entered perimenopause. The treatment is vaginal estrogen, either cream or vaginal suppositories.

For washing, try using plain soap (if you haven't already) and use a flat hand to wash on the surface of the vulva -- no soap inside, just use water for inner labia etc.

For the piles, could it maybe be fissures rather than piles? If so, Scheriproct ointment is best.

I hope you can see a gynae or dermatologist soon, I know how awful this is!

I also make sure I get lots of fibre, I use psyllium husk - the bits, not the powder - in water. Fibre, water and exercise. Just daily brisk walking helps me, I don't run or anything.

Good luck.

@Mykittensmittens talc free talc???

Yup.

cooling and itch relieving. Sometimes the whole ‘dampness’ of that area gives me an itch. The slightest sweat, whatever. A puff of talc (of the talc free variety, if you are concerned) really helps me. It also helps with heat rash elsewhere.

Apologies if I've misunderstood, are the piles itchy? They are often itchy after having bowels opened because certain "salts" are left behind and when they dry they become very itchy so the solution is to wash after having bowels opened and wash away the salts. Regards vaginal itching, a couple of years ago I had an episode of terrible vulval and vaginal itching. I was so sore and the area was very inflamed, it felt like that area was on fire. The GP was brilliant. Prescribed Eumovate ointment ( think I had to use it after washing the area every night for a few weeks) and Dermol 500 lotion for washing vulval area. All soreness and itching resolved. Never needed to use the Eumovate since, still use the Dermol 500 lotion when showering and will continue to do so.
Also, I once read that rather than scratching the itch try and pinch the area which is less harmful.
I hope you are able to get his sorted out quickly and are feeling more comfortable soon.
