Six weeks ago I had my remaining ovary removed. I had a 13 cm mass. Benign thank God.

I've healed well but feel exhausted.
I have to go back to work in a fortnight. Any advice appreciated. I'm 59.
I do a desk job with long commutes. I can do hybrid for three days but that's it.

Can you ask for a staggered return? If not then maybe ask for am extension of sick leave.
Hope you feel better soon xx

Go back to your GP and ask for phased return and also it's not u reasonable to ask for WFH more frequently if you're suffering f health issues - does your work have occupational health facilities? There should be reasonable adjustments given for your health issues. It may be something to do with hormones and would be sensible to mention to your GP as fatigue is part of menopause and losing your ovary has that hormonal loss issue so may be something to do with this?! Are you on HRT already?

Paid sick leave runs out next month (it's stat anyway as I'm technically se and a director). It's the travel I'm dreading due to the crowds on the trains. I can't drive into my place of work as its central London. I'm retiring at the end of the year but I have to do this last project. Needs must as I've earnt practically nothing.

@CatsWhiskerz i can't have hrt and went through the menopause about five years ago. I have no ovaries. I am going to speak to the GP though as I'm knackered. Still walking like an old duffer.

I don't know much about HRT but I'm pretty sure you can take it after menopause, that's the whole point of it,isn't it?

I had the same surgery recently and was told 8 weeks off work minimum, 8 weeks no driving and 12 weeks full recovery and looking back it was that. Big improvement by about 8 weeks but really wasn't until 12 until I was completely healed.
