Understanding my T-scores (Osteoporosis)

I've had Osteoporosis for a couple of years, am just turning 57, take Alendronic Acid once a week and despite asking around (including my GP surgery) cannot get any info on how severe my diagnosis is. I am not fretting or anything, just want to know. My T scores on the Dexa results are -3.3 can anyone tell me if this ranks as mild moderate elevated or severe please? Have asked locum at Gp's, retired radiographer friend and of course Google! I know, I know...shoulda come to Mumsnet in the first place!

Just to add, I also take two calcichew per day, am post menopausal and on Oestrogel.

Sorry for the fastest (and dullest) drip feed.

Just looked at my scores. 2.6 is considered osteoporosis. 1.8 was considered osteopenia.

Just found this. Bone fracture increases with worst score. .

Thank you Gundogday. Would I be classed as in the severe category? I saw a chart rating these categories (which I now can’t find for the life of me!) been looking everywhere…the joys of brain fog!

Did a quick Google and found references to four stages. These are the ‘worst’ two stages.

The nurses at the Royal Osteoporosis Society are very helpful as is their website

True, I have just been on their website and also have found several ‘Fracture risk assessment tools’ I used the university of Sheffield one, just put all your details in and it does the calculations. Thank you for your help and time. Can’t remember what I did before discovering Mumsnet xx
