Best contraception instead of condoms

My partner and I have been together 2 years and have always used condoms but have been thinking it would be nice to ditch them...Looking for advice on what would be a highly reliable replacement contraception.
I've only ever tried the pill (years ago when I was in my 20s). I'm 44 and peri-menopausal now.
Thanks x

Implant has the lowest failure rate 0.05%.

Here's the list for all of them

Depo provera has always been my go to, only needs to be done once every three months and no periods whilst on it which is a massive benefit for me. After my first child was born 16 months ago I decided to give the mini pill a go, it clearly didn’t work for me as we now have a second child on the way! When she’s born I will 100% be going back to the depo!

https://thelowdown.com/ is a great website to compare contraception and read real reviews.

My recommendation would be an IUD. The Mirena stops periods for most, made mine lighter. The copper coil does the job with no hormones.

Yes, insertion is uncomfortable and undignified for a few minutes but worth it for years of confident contraception.

Vasectomy

I went for a Mirena two years ago (then aged 46) and it really has been fantastic. I never had hugely heavy periods previously apart from when I had the copper coil and needed to use two very heavy tampons plus pads which was a bit of a nightmare. Since having it put in, almost straight away it lightened my periods.

I used to have bad side effects with newer generations of the pill so I had to be very careful with finding the right pill over the years and I’ve had no issues at all with the Mirena because the hormones are a lot more localised.

But there are pros and cons for everyone.

Given your age, I would suggest your partner has a vasectomy
