Torn Cervix

Hi

I’m wondering if anyone has any shared experience of this or any advice.
I’ve tried searching Google but it seems such a rare occurrence that I can’t find much.

a couple of years back I delivered my baby by forceps delivery. I pushed for 2hrs before they realised my baby was turned at such an angle their face was getting stuck, so I’d been pushing them against my own body for that whole time. It was an awful delivery with a really long recovery.

fast forward to now I’ve had ongoing gynae issues, pelvic pain, unusual bleeding, the works. I have most of the symptoms of endo and I felt this was probably the case so I’m in the process of awaiting a laproscopy. However I’ve since found out (only recently) after a gynaecologist appointment that my cervix actually tore open during this labour, this went totally unnoticed by anyone at the hospital and has since repaired itself (albeit in a non-typical shape)

from the limited information I could find, some of my symptoms are also that of a cervical injury, I’m now a bit confused on the cause of my symptoms and a bit in shock that i had such an injury go unnoticed for so long.

has anyone else experienced a torn cervix and did it present long term with symptoms?

thank you x

Hi, I had a torn cervix with my second (out of six). It was the only one it happened with and her birth was straight forward and completely natural. No forceps or anything else. It does happen.

I found out because I had some spotting occasionally and bleeding when we first had sex when she was 3 months old. The doctor just told me that my cervix had torn and was still healing, and that it took about two years for everything to fully return to normal, even if we felt normal.

It didn't cause any further issues in anyway, including with future births, and I never had another cervical tear.
