Recently had mirena out due to side effects (bleeding a lot) but am bit back to my nightmare periods including flooding at 4am

am taking neat codeine, tranexamic acid, paracetamol, ibuprofen (even though I shouldn’t as stomach knackered) an doxylamine succinate and using heat /TENS but still feel sick and awful.

Am thankfully wfh as have hospital appt matter, but what else can I try ? I nearly passed out going to the loo earlier.

Am lucky I though as under Gynae who have offered me hysterectomy, just due to other complications have been trying to avoid (EDS). But I cannot do this every month, I’m 50 this year and my mum didn’t go through the menopause until 55.

I would discuss hysterectomy further with the gynae. I would also ask that person if he/she thinks uterine ablation surgery would be suitable for you.

The only tablet that ever stopped my excessive bleeding in its tracks was northisterone (prescribed by a gynae). However, on cessation of those the bleeding started again and this time it did not stop even with a further course of tablets.

Thanks, I have been trying to find a gynae that is knowledgeable about EDS but there seems to be no such thing. And currently have 1 cm wide/deep hole in my face after stitches failed after a biopsy so know that stitching will be an issue.

they have said no ablation as too much adeno and it won’t help, only hysterectomy with any extra endo removed where possible.

Damned if I do, damned if I don’t !
