Worried that I'm having a third biopsy

On my cervix.

The first two results have come back with a none viable cervical sample /inadequate specimen. Now they are inviting me for a third colposcopy in a few weeks time. I am at this point fed-up, really deflated, it really hurt me last time, and the stress of waiting twice for results has been awful. I have waited 3 weeks for this letter, and to be told it is not viable for a second time. I could cry.
This third time they are also going to do a repeat smear aswell, maybe as a back up precaution I'm guessing. My last smear was routine, 8 months ago at my gp surgery, negative and I have never ever missed a smear, and have never had any abnormal results. I was referred initially to the hospital due to some symptoms I was experiencing and the gp seeing a lesion on my cervix, which bled on contact.
Now I am scared I will have a none viable sample again happen when I go back for the third time. I followed everything they said for the pre prep. I just don't understand what is going on.
Has anybody had any experience of this. I can understand once, but multiple times?

I am so sorry you're going through this - I've had a lot of this in the past and it all came out fine but the stress was awful .. I can really empathise and didn't want to read and run. Is there any leeway to get a private gynae ? I know it's a lot of money but just thinking if there is a way to get some help - I need a follow up in the future and am thinking I might try and find a private gynae - colopscopy's ar the worst I'm sorry it's had to be repeated

Thank you so much for replying, I'm sorry you went through this too. Did they say what the cause of yours was?

I cannot afford private unfortunately, due to other unexpected outgoings.
On the second attempt the specialist colposcopist nurse mentioned my cervix was really hard. When I researched this, it appears it is softer before midcycle. I have rang up and asked them to send an appointment midcyle instead.
The last two attempts have been before my period, and I'm wondering if this has added to their difficulty to get enough tissue. Dh is saying they should consider this before, when the first attempt has been unsuccessful. They have informed a failsafe manager after the second inadequate specimen, not sure what that is for.
It has wasted more NHS resources (if the point of my cycle has been an issue, and if it should have been considered). I am unsure what their process is, but I would hate to this that this is the reason I am having to go back a third time.
Hopefully if it mg cervix is softer when they take it, there will be more of a chance that they will get a viable sample this time.

It really hurt me last time, I am going to question this, and for a numbing agent this time, too. I'm just so fed up and dreading going back. This is a different specialist nurse, so the third HCP who will attempt it.

Ahh, spotted more typos too, hopefully you'll get the jist of it. I have gotten myself all up a height about it!
