Anyone experienced this vertigo/dizziness sensation before?

Hi ladies,

I have recently just been checked over in hospital due to waking up with a horrendous dizziness, I felt like I was rolling and couldn’t stop after just waking up and as I tried to sit up I was so dizzy and felt like I was tilting to the side and couldn’t get up. I managed to get up about 10 minutes later but still very stagered and unsteady. It happened last year after my first born was 6 weeks old. I didn’t feel great on the morning but still managed to go to work and the day ahead but felt exhausted when I got home. Since then I have had a banging head and felt terrible but the hospital said my infection markers are up and iron is quite low and I’ve been given a supplement and that im potentially fighting something and to get repeat bloods this week coming. I have been quite scared because it was not a nice experience at all, it’s caused a lot of anxiety for me :(

Have you tested for BPPV? I had that and it was easily solved after a few times doing the Epley maneuver. Apparently once it's happened you're more prone to it. Man it was terrible!

I have also suffered from BVVP and had it sorted doing the Epley maneuver.

Thirded for BPPV! It used to make me keel over if I turned my head too quickly - eg to speak to a colleague at work.

I agree it sounds like BPPV. It can feel horrendous but can be sorted out with the technique already mentioned. I haven't slept on my left side or laid flat for a few years because of it...too scared of triggering it again!

Yes - BPPV caused by crystals in the inner ear. Very often happens immediately on waking up when you go to sit up or try to move your head.

I've had it a few times and it's helped by the Epley manoeuvre. My GP did it the first time and after that I've done it myself. There are videos online demonstrating it.
