Tearing during sex after 3rd deg

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any experiences or words of wisdom with the following?

sorry in advance for a few TMIs

I had my child 3 years ago which I had a 3rd degree tear, everything ‘healed’ around 6 months after

Im finally in a place where I am enjoying sex and feeling comfortable with myself but I’m having a few isssues -

I’ve noticed my perineum is much shorter than it used to be (and quite a eyesore 😩) my vaginal opening is a lot longer.
also where the scar is (from the tear) I often bleed and am sore after sex in this area. It’s almost like it’s opening the tear back up?

anyone have any advice or experiences? I’m really embarrassed so I’d prefer to avoid the doctors if possible!

Go see a doctor. Sex shouldn't hurt.

You really need to see the gp. Most surgeries have a women's health gp, so ask to see her.

I’m wondering if there’s even any point?? I’m guessing there’s not much which can be done if the cause is the tear 😩
it’s really frustrating and making me not want to have sex, also I think my husband is put off as he’s scared of hurting me

It might be possible to have the scar revised. It also would rule out other causes.

Definitely see your GP. It’s quite common to have the episiotomy scar revised and it will make a big difference to you.

Definitely make a GP appointment. I know it can be really awkward to be examined and discuss these things but honestly it's their bread and butter, nothing that you say or that they see will shock them.
