I heard the tail end of something saying women react every differently to me and thought I'd do some research but I must be looking in the wrong place as I can't find much

Caroline Criado Perez's book Invisible women talks about how the medical industry largely ignores women when it comes to testing drugs though I can't remember if she talks about statins in particular (she definitely talks about heart attacks). A great book covering a lot of topics and worth getting anyway.

She also has a website.

Well most medical research is still done on men’s bodies as we’re deemed to be ‘too complex’ due to menstruation, pregnancy, menopause, breast feeding etc so the result is that general dosages of all medications are for men’s bodies and we are over-medicated.

There’s a ton of research and studies on this online.

And it’s why I as a petite woman NEVER take a full dose of anything. I’m not on statins but if I was ever prescribed any I’d start always very low.

Well I think it's one thing not to test on women it's another to hide research that says its worse for women
