This has probably been posted before but I wonder if anybody has any advice or has similar?

Sorry if it's a bit disgusting, I've not really got anywhere with the drs so just wondered if anybody has anything that may help.

Periods have always been extremely heavy, clots etc, lasting 7 days minimum. Have PCOS so I know this can be an issue.
But this time round day 4 past huge clots I'm talking golf ball sizes, severe pain that was actually worse than my labours! I get pain usually but this took me out and I was doubled over.

TIA

Why do you think you’ve got nowhere with the doctor?. Do not be fobbed off!.

Return to your GP and insist on being referred to a gynaecologist. Tell them how much impact this is having on your day to day quality of life. If finances permit see a gynaecologist as a private patient for an initial consultation.

Heavy periods can be caused by fibroids or endometriosis to name but two and the cause needs to be properly diagnosed, treating the symptoms only is not sufficient.

@AttilaTheMeerkat

Thank you for you reply ☺️

Dr basically said it was one of those things with PCOS and if it continues to come back. Try the pill, but this doesn't suit me well at all and causes all sorts of issues. I've tried numerous different ones.
I've been referred in the past when struggling to get pregnant for endometriosis and fibroids and had tests etc but nothing found just PCOS.

But Im thinking booking another appointment with another Dr and see if that gets anywhere.

Thank you 😊

That's so hard. Ive had the same recently and previously been to docs. I went again and they prescribed tranzemic acid to reduce bleeding and it's been a game changer, maybe research and go back and ask for different options?

I was about to say the same. I take tranexemic acid for heavy periods
