Never really understood blood pressure readings. Are these normal?

Been struggling with sinus tachycardia, ectopic beats (pvc's) and diziness for a few months now. Along side other symptoms and Dr has checked my thyroid (again!) as they can't find a cause. Dr has been monitoring my blood pressure each appointment and I've just looked and they are the following;
133/82
120/66
116/76
119/80
The 133/82 is high, should I be concerned about that? The last few seem to have lowered. I can never make any sense of the top and bottom numbers. Would the 120/66 be considered low?

They all look pretty normal.
Think once you get to 140/90 it is classed as high blood pressure

Destiny123 · 19/01/2025 21:46

Theyre fine. Should do best if 3 readings, twice a day for a week then go review. Persistently >130/90 is treated. The top no is the pressure when the heart is contracting, the bottom when relaxing

Everyone has variations in their blood pressure so I don’t think one high reading is anything to worry about.

PermanentTemporary · 19/01/2025 21:46

They all look fine. Blood pressure does fluctuate.

Thanks dementedpixie, I was under a massive amount of stress when the first one was taken so I think that may be the reason it was on the higher side that time.

All seem ok to me too.

Darkmorningsarethepits · 19/01/2025 21:48

they are fine

Most ectopics are just one of those things and rarely an issue so long as they aren’t associated with fainting or chest pain or breathing issues etc

dementedpixie · 19/01/2025 21:49

The nhs link says the first one is slightly elevated
