Had an ovary,Fallopian tube, cyst removal and a womb ablation and surgeon looked at my other Fallopian tube/ovary to check all was ok
I was a day surgery that ended up staying overnight as I was last on the list so late back from theatre.
I was signed off work for a month and did need that time to recuperate and rest
Good luck with everything

I had both tubes, one ovary & a cyst removed, went in at 5.00pm, theatre at 7.00pm, back on ward by 8.30pm & home by 10.00pm. I was able to attend my ds school Christmas celebration the day after, my dad drove me, but I was able to be there for 2 hours. I was back to normal within about 3 days other than not doing any lifting.

I had ovary, cyst and tube removal, was in for 2 nights. They told me they'd write me a sick note for 8 weeks/ no driving for 8 weeks and I was looking at 12 weeks full recovery. You'll be up and about the next day but it hurt to lift the milk out of the fridge so be prepared to need a lot of help initially and lots of rest .

I drove a week after having mine done & was back on the school run 2 weeks after my op. I am a single parent & ds was 6 at the time, so had to do as much as I could.

One night but I was in too much pain to come home earlier.

Eileen1993 · 07/01/2025 22:20

Hey so I had my Laparoscopy yesterday morning was in surgery 2.5 hours in recovery for a further 5 hours. Consultant came round said he removed my right ovary and right tube, cleared/repaired my left tube. Said i had stage 3 endo covering a lot of my organs had to seperate a few from my pelvis. Was supposed to be a day surgery but this is now my second night, in absolute agony! They done 4 laparoscopy holes and vaginally too! Can’t get out of bed or walk on my own yet, have a catheter as I’m unable to pee so I’m in retention. Also my blood pressure and sats are dangerously low! My bp has just been checked and it’s 78/42 and my sats are 88% I’m currently on 4 litres of oxygen.

Oh you poor thing, it's a bit of a shock isn't it? Hopefully by tomorrow you'll be able to get up and get to the loo. Are you on nice fuzzy pain killers?

Eileen1993 · 07/01/2025 22:57

A very big shock lol! I thought i would be home yesterday but seems like they did a bit more than

Oh that's good. I am allergic to morphine so it's good you can take it. Don't be afraid to keep yourself dosed up and when you're on tablets you must take them regularly and set the alarm so you stay on top of pain relief.

LoafofSellotape · 08/01/2025 14:42

How was your night, have you been able to stand at all today?x

Eileen1993 · 08/01/2025 19:41

Oh you poor thing,I had a wound infection too, keep an eye on it, I needed a couple of courses of antibiotics as it was resistant.
Sounds like you're getting there slowly, rest and sleep and you'll heal 😊

Eileen1993 · 09/01/2025 17:54

How bad was ur pain please?

OP posts:
LoafofSellotape · 09/01/2025 17:57

I needed to take pain killers every 2 hours. I staggered them so I took either ibuprofen or paracetamol every 2 or 3 hours and I had to keep that up for 6 weeks. If I didn't I'd really be in a lot of pain. I set the alarm in the night too.

If I could tolerate codeine I would've taken that but I'm allergic to it.

Oh ouch. That sounds very painful.

Make sure you get enough rest, and I hope you feel better soon.
