Yes, 7 years ago. Was straight forward and I was back at work within a day or two and relatively painless. My periods stopped completely which was life changing and I don’t regret getting it done.

A colleague had one in her 50s. Said it was the best thing she'd ever done.

A friend also had one, but still had some bleeding afterwards.

Should have one, ahead of coil insertion. I wasn’t offered this just as recommendation
I saw it on hysteroscopy notes I finally got on request a few months later.

My understanding is it is based on age/fertility wishes. Seen loads of older women with fibroids denied it or women in peri say useless that it failed.

The nhs just heavily wanted to sell the coil as magic ointment to a fibroid which it isn’t, zero other options leading up to and given pre hysteroscopy.

I had this surgery due to uncontrollable bleeding in peri menopause. It was successful.

Yes. It's been an absolute miracle. I have a coil too and have gone from losing a crazy amount of blood and all the pain and mood swings that went along with my periods to not even knowing when they're on. Absolutely life changing

I had one due to heavy periods in my late 30s, was also sterilised with clips at the same time as it is possible to get pregnant afterwards and if you do it can have have very serious consequences.

I have zero regrets and it worked well but I was unwell afterwards. It could have been the gas to do the sterilisation or the general or both. I was in a LOT of pain and was still in recovery screaming and on a morphine pump 6 hours post surgery rather than being discharged.

3 weeks I was back at work full time and fully recovered. Got my life back.
