Vagina/vulva question worried!

Hi

i am just wondering if anyone has experienced this.. for a few months now i have noticed kind of whiteish under the skin spots on my Mons pubis area.. they aren't white heads it's hard to explain the spots aren't really raised I can't feel them when I run my fingers over them but when I stretch the skin I can see them.. they are whiter in colour than the surrounding skin sort of like random spots of white on the skin

I went to the sexual health clinic about this as I was worried and the doctor said they are just normal spots on the skin and must be part of how my vagina is but surely not .. she even said they aren't hair follicles either

they aren't squeezable they are literally under the surface and as I said aren't even raised really but you can see the white marks it's strange

I think I may have always had them but I am going through laser hair removal at the moment so I have no hair on that area and guess can see it more

it's bothering me a bit and I also have health anxiety which isn't helping matters

anyone experienced this ?

Just to add they aren't fordyce spots as from what I've read they only affect the mucosal area and don't tend to form on the mons pubis .. I have pretty obvious fordyce spots on my labia and these are totally different

Why are you worried though?
A doctor has reassured you that these spots are normal.

All women have them.

I'm surprised that you've looked and poked around in your genitalia to this extent.

Popie123 · 26/11/2024 18:22

I am worried because I have health anxiety and I am not sure if they are normal or every woman has them

Every woman has them. I certainly have. The doctor told you that every woman has them.

I'm not really sure why you started a thread about this. Seriously, why did you bother asking people on MN when you've had advice from an actual doctor.

Popie123 · 26/11/2024 19:52

@TheShellBeach so why bother replying then? As I'm not asking for judgement

if you have a look at some of the mental health threads you will clearly see how health anxiety can affect ppl so yeah your comments aren't needed thanks !

Have you mentioned the health anxiety to your GP too OP? What support are you getting for that?

starrymidnight · 26/11/2024 20:01

You’ve already had advice from a doctor.

Reassurance wont help your health anxiety, it just restarts the cycle of cravings.

And yes, they can be tiny and show as white spots under the skin. I panicked about these when first trying to conceive but was lucky enough to find out what they were!

TheShellBeach · 26/11/2024 23:00

@Luckingfovely that's a nasty comment, which I see has been deleted.

@TheShellBeach as someone that is currently in therapy due to health anxiety your comments are completely unwarranted. This person has explained why they started the post, health anxiety literally takes over peoples lives, they do not need judgemental comments from people like you that have no idea on the condition. If a little reassurance helps even if it’s short term then why is that a problem!

SnoopySantaPaws · 30/11/2024 00:09

@Popie123

sorry, I can't confirm or deny if I have them. I'm too old, too fat & too broken (from an accident) to perform the gymnastics to check it out.

i think the best thing you can do ibeyond just accepting they're one of those things) is to decide whose opinion you respect enough to accept what they say. Someone like a private wins health specialist & make an appointment with them.

then accept what they say.

although some people say that increases health anxiety.

what do YOU think would help??
