Hi, I haven’t had but I’ve had hysterectomy… Any abdominal surgery is difficult and involves a long recovery. I’m sure it will help your symptoms tho. Good luck with your surgery!

Any abdominal/gynae surgery is 6 week recovery, are you having laparoscopic or open surgery? It can cause constipation so keep senna and sodium docusate at home for when you are discharged, also hot and cold packs from the chemist help a lot after surgery. Plus drink lots of fluids to avoid a uti.

I've just had tube and one ovary plus a large cyst removed. I was told no driving for 8 weeks and 12 week recovery and I'd say it's been about that to be honest. I got an infection which didn't help as I needed two weeks of really strong antibiotics.

Hey guys thankyou, I’m having laparoscopic surgery with my consent to open me up and full hysterectomy if needed. Maybe i was naive to think i be perfectly fine the next day 😂

The hospital suggested a sick note for 8 weeks off work initially so you won't be up and running the next day 😂

I had one ovary removed through a laparoscopy and endometrial ablation at the same time. It was probably a bit of a rougher recovery as I have already had two c sections and so they went through that scar again. I’ll be honest, the first week I was really really sore, and it took a good three weeks before I felt ready to work from home. It wasn’t as long as a hysterectomy but it wasn’t easy either. My core is still fucked now years later, so start exercising when you can!

I was unfortunately very unwell I had one tube one ovary removed along with a 6lb tumour. I ended up being off 6 months my job was very physical plus it was cancerous and caused me lots of stress as well as other problems. I was in my late 20s at the time. The surgery wasn't bad I had a laparotomy but the referred pain in my shoulders a few days afterwards was agony. Peppermint tea is a must if having open surgery.
