About 4 weeks I had a red itchy rash that blistered that was on my bum cheek but inside if that makes sense. I thought it was a case of sanitary towel rash as I had changed brands, ended up going to sexual health and had it swabbed and confirmed as HSV1. Been married for 10 years and confident no cheating etc so assume one of those things and also DH suffers from cold sores and I’m fairly certain I had them as a child lots and I was going through a stressful week .

anyway, I’ve now started to have an odd feeling on the inside of my labia, could it be happening again? Can it come back this quick, is a different location? It feels different but I don’t know what’s normal. Not had any inter course whatsoever. The clinic didn’t give much information other than give the anti vitals which I took and finished. The original site has healed complete I’d say.

if it’s on your labia / genitals how does it feel?

I don’t get genital herpes but do get cold sores. I would really recommend calling the herpes virus associations helpline and speaking with one of their volunteers. I’ve found the internet riddled with misinformation and spent the last few years really worrying about things. After a 15 minutes chat yesterday I feel like I know so much more.

I’ve just started getting mine again after a break of a year without so I’m taking antivirals again.

I take antivirals all the time and have done so for more than 20 years. My rash is on my bum cheek too, but I think I also had it on my labia in my first outbreak (but not since, only on my bum).

I'd ask for AV medications, they usually only give them if you get 6 or more outbreaks a year so you might need to exaggerate a bit, but they have been a life saver for me.
