Prolapse worries

Hi

im quite worried at the moment and also suffer from health anxiety

I have been struggling with constipation due to a low fat diet for around 6 months now and there has been alot of straining.. I also have suffered with piles due to this

i decided to look inside my vagina yesterday due to a stinging feeling when urinating and saw kind of pink wet (sorry) fleshy ridges /folds kind of lumps can't really example it

to see it I have to part the inner lips very far back and try and open the vagina with my fingers as much as possible , even then it's harder to see but a lot more visible when I'm squatting position

I was worried this was a possible propose due to straining an went to see a private GP who also specialised in gynae (didn't know this at the time till she said )

she examined me with her finger inside me and made me cough, she moved it around to check bladder prolapse, rectal and uterine and she said there was no prolapse

she then looked with a speculum and said everything was fine

I am not sure what this thing is that is there, it is certainly not hanging out my vagina and I have to really look and go in certain positions to see it as it is far inside , it can't be my cervix as I have a far back cervix and im pretty sure I wouldn't be able to see that without a speculum

is this normal??

I read that examining for prolapse when lying down isn't good but she did make me cough

I'm really worried but she reassured me it was all normal but still worried

and just for info I'm 34 with no children

thanks

Hey op I too had a bit of health anxiety since having a baby and was also convinced I had a prolapse. It took 3 different private gynos to put my mind at ease! I also have a fleshy thing quite far back but was assured it’s not a prolapse. If you’ve been examined and don’t have typical symptoms like the heavy/dragging sensation I’d say you’re probably fine. Maybe start to reintroduce more fibre to your diet to avoid straining and I know it’s hard but try not to worry x

I was convinced I had rectocele for a while (I do have a cystocele since I had my child) but dr just said that the back wall between vagina and rectum is thin so there can be a little bulge that is sometime there depending on whether you are constipated without it being rectocele.

Hi all thought I would come back on and update I case anyone has the same worries as I ended up seeing another private GP yesterday as was still concerned

he examined me in several different ways including speculum and said no prolapse and what I was seeing was actually just folds of vaginal skin inside which is healthy

it has put my mind at ease mostly but really need to get this health anxiety under control

thanks for your replies
