Uterine Prolapse

Have suspected uterine prolapse. Seeing physio and gp next week.

Can anyone who has had this tell me what their treatment options were and how things are now?

Hi, I was told by GP a few weeks ago that I have pelvic prolapse. I'm currently awaiting a scan to determine which organs are actually prolapsing, but I can feel my cervix almost to vaginal entrance. But I get pain during sex and discomfort when going to the toilet, either way 😬
There are a few stages, depending which stage & organs affected will most likely determine treatment options, with surgery being the last one unless obviously necessary.
My GP said I'd most likely need a pessary, a disc-like device that supports the cervix & uterus, plus physio. Interested to find out what happens...

Pessary awful - for the ‘older’ lady
Ultrasound no a help, clinical diagnosis .

See a good surgeon if it’s hanging out into knickers, otherwise vaginal oestrogen and physical may keep things stable.

Lose weight if over weight

I'm 7 months pp after a complete massacre of a birth. I have a grade 2 cystocele (bladder prolapse) which I use a cube pessary for. It took a little while to feel psychologically ready to use it but I try to think about it like my mouth guard I put in at night to stop me grinding my teeth or my contact lenses. I like it now! And with loads of pelvic floor physio I actually don't need to use it most days, only if I'm standing for a long time or baby wearing. I believe uterine prolapse is one of the ones that responds well to physio and topical oestrogen.

Sex is fine. Actually better in some ways because my G spot has moved down (sorry if that's TMI.)

I might have surgery when I'm older but to be honest if I can't feel it and it doesn't interfere with anything I won't be getting it fixed just for aesthetic reasons.

I got my prolapse fixed when I had a hysterectomy . I wasn't offered any treatments but that was 19 years ago and I've had no issues since.

Hi @Prolapsical I've just come from an appointment and been told a have a "little prolapse". I'm also really upset by the news (started crying in the doctor's room - so embarrassing!). Nervous and scared about what comes next. Waiting for an appointment with my own GP for full examination and assessment. What did the GP/Physio say?
