Hi
Wondering if anyone can help?
Long story short, health anxiety. Periods from being young were 7 days long and very painful. On contraception from aged 15 to 26ish, dd1 IVF due to unexplained infertility on my side, dd2 natural conception 18 months later. Both ELCS. Went on depo, came off in October 2023 after 3 years on it (started with weight gain and vaginal dryness). Periods returned in April this year, varied cycle lengths and have been short and light at times but other than cramping, have been fine.
Tilted cervix, smears are a nightmare. Last one was in July this year (I go to colposcopy because my cervix is that high and tilted) and they always hurt. Nurse had to get another nurse to do it as she was struggling, other nurse asked if I always bled, which I do. Think she said it looked inflamed but can't remember. Cried to original nurse and explained about HA and she said she saw nothing at all to worry about and said that any prodding and poking would cause inflammation and bleeding. Results back, normal.
Intermittent mid-cycle bleeding ever since. Been tracking this and it's usually after period, very light pink when wiping, up to ovulation, then nothing. Sometimes around ovulation there is plenty of EWCM and sometimes there will be a brown streak of old blood.
Never bled mid-cycle before, currently not on any contraception or medication, and I'm 34. Dmum didn't hit menopause until 40s.
GP referred me for an US for reassurance. Had it yesterday and explained HA to the nurse and she said there was nothing to worry about. Read the report last night and panicked. Saw nurse today who said bulky cervix can be normal for some, can be with infections or conditions, that everything else looked normal and as it should, and that the fluid could just be there if it's been knocked. Also gynae nurse friend said everything on scan looks normal, that fluid could be due to ovulation, or due to period approaching (due on next week) and said to ask for an MRI for adenomyosis as she has it and it could be that. Nurse has contacted gynae for advice and guidance and said that because of the waiting list they now ask for advice and it's just routine as they are the experts, and that they may either want to see me, or they may be happy that things are as they are.
Anyone with any similar experiences who can please share them?
