Have an ECG booked..
Nkood results came back and my liver function test result has come back abnormal.. just in case anyway knows what I’m talking about my ALT is 100 GGT is 63..
I’m just worried and wondered if anyone had any experience in this ?
I have to ring doctors for an appointment I’m just anxious

Are you taking any painkillers like Naproxen currently? Or any other medication that might raise your levels?

Regarding the palpitations - how old are you? Peri-menopause can bring on palpitations for some people.

There are too many possibilities for anybody other than a doctor to assess, as it can include anything from alcohol use, obesity or any number of other things.

you'll probably have to have repeat tests in 3 weeks to assess liver function. Heart palpitations as you describe are not that worrisome, so don't fret.

crazyunicornlady73 · 19/10/2024 07:36

Don't panic, mine randomly shot up to around 350 with one being 800!
Cue phone call from the doctor saying they were at least 10x too high and how much was I drinking (I don't drink)

After repeat tests they just dropped back down into the normal range. No real answers but suggestions made:

A mixture of medications (Naproxen and oneprazole)

Long Covid

A gall stone that had moved

An infection

So there are lots of reasons for this and most of them are not particularly sinister.

Fatty liver is a common cause, I have this too and a gallstone. They will probably book you in for an ultrasound sound scan to find the reason.

Change of diet, cut out all processed, fatty foods.
