Sore under boobs

BrainLife · 13/10/2024 22:13

Has anyone else had this? I have big boobs (34GG) and under my boobs is quite sore. I have tried buying comfortable, breathable bras, I always pat dry after a shower and always have done, they're just not getting better. One side is much worse than the other. My skin is quite shiny where it's sore almost like I've lost a layer of skin, and the pigment has gone a very dark brown (I'm black if that makes a difference as I know skin conditions present differently). I tried calling the GP three days last week but no appointments. At my wits end. Wish I could go no bra for a bit but not brave enough. Has anyone had similar?

It's moisture, you need to try and dry the area out with something like talc. It's things like sweat build up. I used to be a JJ so i know how you feel.

I had this during pregnancy and it was thrush! I put on some caneston cream for a few days and it cleared up.

Blueberrycreampie · 13/10/2024 22:29

Tried talc and creams and stuff but the best thing is Vaseline. Just a little under boobs will make it better.

WhoStoleMySpoons · 13/10/2024 22:30

I've often had similar in the same place. It starts as shiny skin with a few small bumps in the crease under my breasts and ends up as red itchy patches. I used to use Daktarin cream (for athletes foot, off the shelf in the supermarket) but it was really bad last time and the GP prescribed Timodine cream which was amazing and cleared it up in about 4 days.

Seeline · 13/10/2024 22:31

It sounds like a fungal infection. Canestan (the athletes foot one) is great for clearing it.

Floralnomad · 13/10/2024 22:31

Daktarin powder is what you need , it’s especially for those sort of areas .

afaloren · 13/10/2024 22:33

I get this and I find sudocrem sorts it.

ILoveADoubleEntendre · 13/10/2024 22:33

I think it sounds like thrush. Do you get a slightly yeasty smell at all? Sorry for TMI but I get that sometimes when I've been running, although haven't had the skin changes. Could you go to the chemist and wait for a quiet moment and ask for advice? I'm not sure about the Vaseline suggestion, I think u need sth antifungal like daktarin or canesten. X

Toohardtofindaproperusername · 13/10/2024 22:36

I use a,cream that really helps, with gauze over it. I'll post tomo just making sure I mark place. I'm also 34g and have same problem. Talc isn't a good idea I don't think....

BlossomToLeaves · 13/10/2024 22:36

I used to get this too. I had to go back to underwire bras, as none of the other non-wired ones - however supportive they claimed to be or however comfortable they might have been in other ways - kept my boobs lifted up enough from my chest to prevent it. (I'm not that bad - maybe D cup - but they're still quite heavy and something about the shape/position just means I need a lot of help to get them lifted enough!)

letshavetea · 13/10/2024 22:37

I have the same size breasts as you. I also have had this and it re-occurs occasionally. It’s called interigo. I use clotrimazole 1% which you can buy over the counter at the chemist.

mrswishywashy1 · 13/10/2024 22:41

I second using a hairdryer, I've definitely noticed a difference from I've started using one

roseymoira · 13/10/2024 22:51

Get Daktarin powder, the creams will be no good as the area needs to be dried out

MrsMoastyToasty · 13/10/2024 22:55

Change your bra every time you wash.
Pat dry.
Use some athletes foot spray.
Use some antiperspirant spray.
Use some talc.

Stressybetty · 13/10/2024 23:05

Liquid talc for babies is great. I buy the little angels Asda one. Use regularly under boobs to keep it clear.

SpikyHatePotato · 13/10/2024 23:09

I use hibiscrub in the shower - normal soap or shower gel to wash everywhere, then wash affected areas with hibiscrub, leave on the skin for half a minute before rinsing. And I use talc before getting dressed.

Eggseggslegs · 13/10/2024 23:30

Hi, mammographer here! It's called intertrigo and you need antifungal talc from your pharmacy. Not sudacrem or germoline! Wear a good bra that lifts breasts away from your body if possible and keep dry throughout the day. Do get it treated, don't suffer in silence ladies.

Toohardtofindaproperusername · 15/10/2024 22:23

I use dermal cream with some sterile gauze on it ... it helps clear it

Very hard with large boobs so it does come.back from time to time but the cream clears it in couple.days.

Keep it dry as possible and gentle qhen drying.

Hope u can sort

Bigearringsbigsmile · 15/10/2024 22:26

It's a fungal infection. Csnesten cream will sort it.
Once it us clear, after your shower pat itcdry, bit of baby powder and a spritz of anti perspirant.
Keeps everything dry and fresh and stops soreness.

This! I've recently had the same for the first time. Some daktarin has cleared it up.
