High CA marker - being sent for urgent ovarian ultrasound -worried

I've just heard from the GP that my blood tests have come back with high CA levels (59) and so they are sending me for urgent ovarian ultrasound. It's hard not to worry when I heard that .. has anyone been through similar and had all right outcomes?

I have. Mine turned out to be a fibroid, ovarian cyst, endometriosis and adenomyosis. Hope you get sorted soon.

Snap! Mine was 150 which sounded bad but apparently it can go as high as thousands. I hope it's nothing too serious.

I had this my markers were 54 I think. It was a (non cancerous) 10cm ovarian cyst. I had it removed (and my ovary) and all was fine. Had keyhole surgery.

I also had - mine was a normal ovarian cyst - was large and I had keyhole to have it removed. That blood test can be higher than normal for a number of reasons. I think mine was about the same as yours - or low 60's. I don't know if/when it went back to normal as my consultant said he wouldn't bother testing again after the op.

That's really not high, we see it in the 1000s. Also as mentioned there are lots of reasons for raised ca125, not all of them even gynae related. The vast majority of raised results with no other symptoms are nothing to worry about.

They are taking the right action but it's most likely a non cancerous finding. No point saying don't worry I know but honestly this is not an unusual or particularly concerning finding.

Thanks so much everyone for the reassurance. Really good to know others have been here and it's ended up ok! I actually had a high CA marker last time I did bloods about three years ago and did a scan and all came back normal so I should perhaps use that as extra reassurance too....
