Hi anyone that is here a little backstory.. I got bit a maybe 2/3 months back (not sure what by) but I flared up and had a reaction to whatever bit me it swelled up quite big and it was hot to touch and was itchy too (SHOWN IN PICTURE 1) I went to the doctor and was prescribed antibiotics all went well within 2 days the bite had significantly got better and was basically gone fast forward 2 days ago I noticed I got bit again it only started off as a little lump and then over night it flared up like (PICTURE NUMBER 2) when I woke up I thought not this again I thought I was bit by the same thing again so I rang my doctors the chemist actually took a look at it and by this point the bite had pretty much swelled up and took up all my thigh nearly the chemist took a look and said yeah I've definitely been bit and prescribed me the same antibiotics as last time this was yesterday so I've been taking the tablets as I should I can notice there working a little bit but today I've noticed the bite has a purple Centre and a red ring around it please tell me this is not a tick bite or Lyme disease I'm petrified I've searched google and it doesn't sound good this time that I was bit it's very painful and felt rock hard in the center furthermore I'm going back to the docs tomorrow to see if this is normal thankyou
It's just annoying what the hell is biting me lol and making me swell like this

Sorry, I don't want to read and run but I don't have any medical training.

I do however get these reactions quite frequently. So much so, I keep a pen beside my bed to draw around the bite site to measure how much the bite has grown overnight.

Antibiotics are often needed if it hasn't reduced / shown signs of reducing after a period of time.

To my untrained eye, it doesn't look like a tick bite but perhaps see the GP if you're concerned.

Hope it all works out

I react like that to horsefly bites. Did the bite hurt at the time (did you feel yourself get bitten?) they're often quite painful at the time.

If not a horsefly... where have you been recently where you might have been bitten? That may help to work out what has got you!

First one looks like horsefly or nasty mozzie bite. Second one does look like it could be a lyme rash. I've had it twice and I'm not dead or even close so please dont freak out, Dr Google always throws up worst case scenarios!

The treatment is three weeks of a specific antibiotic called doxycycline, if you still have signs / symptoms at the end of the course it should be increased to six weeks. Please read and quote the NICE guidance for lyme disease treatment at your GP appointment and insist they follow it, theres a woeful lack of lyme awareness in the NHS and the longer its left untreated the more likely it is to trigger complications like arthritis, chronic fatigue etc.

Also the NHS test for lyme is wildly inaccurate and should not be a barrier to getting the antibiotics; the rash is enough. This is in the NICE guidance, please tell your GP this if they insist on testing before they'll provide antibiotics.

Again though please dont freak out, just get the antibiotics and make sure you finish them. Hope it goes ok!
