How to help stress/anxiety related overactive bladder?

Hi all,

I think I have stress/anxiety related overactive bladder, as it only seems to be an issue where my access to a toilet is limited (e.g. in the car, long work meetings, travelling). It's really starting to get me down as it's impacting things which should be fun (e.g. holidays involving long car journeys). Has anyone found anything which actually helped them with an overactive bladder which is partially related to stress or anxiety? I'm not looking for medication, more thinking about natural remedies to help the cause itself (e.g. yoga, meditation, physical stretches, bladder training etc). I really want to kick this and be able to travel or go out without worrying about where the next toilet is!

I've worked with a woman (early 30's) who's bladder woke her up at 4am every single day. Couple of sessions and it was resolved. As yours is stress/anxiety related I'd be looking to work on that and the bladder issue will stop as a result.

My DD is experiencing the same issue @Eyesopenwideawake could you explain a little more about how to change the thinking process so that you are less worried when you are in a situation where you know that your access to a toilet will be limited for a longer period of time. It's a difficult one as there is not real workaround and the fear tends to snowball. It's making life very limited for her. Thank you!

Hi @Hugga The key quote in your post is the fear tends to snowball. If there was no fear there'd be nothing to worry about and the rational part of the mind would be able to control the urge to go to the loo, which we can all do. That's the part of the thinking process I change.
