Hysterectomy etc

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has real life advice for me, I have severe endometriosis, adenomyosis, cysts and polyps and am booked in for three ops in one, total hysterectomy, cyst removal and repair and then removing a chunk of bowel.
My appointment has just come in for the end of September which is 6 months earlier than expected so I'm now in a tizzy.
Could I ask for honest recovery stories please? There's a chance I may have a bag fitted after.
How soon could you drive?
How soon can I lift a wheelchair out of the car?
Am I likely to feel shite for a couple of weeks or a couple of months, more so that I can plan and organise for my disabled child than anything ( I may be I teeny bit anxious too!)

Thanks

They say around 6 weeks recovery after a hysterectomy, I was back at work on my 6th week but wished that I hadn't rushed back as tiredness seems to last longer.

You probably won't be able to lift a wheelchair for a while due to the stitches and can't drive until it's healed.
It's sore at first but take peppermint tea to get rid of the wind as that was the most painful thing (you can feel it in your shoulders after!) and have a pillow to hand for sneezing, laughing or clumsy kids cuddles.

It sounds like you will have an abdominal excision so that is longer recovery. I went back to work after seven weeks following a vaginal and laparoscopic surgery and it was too soon though I felt fine at home. I would advise not to lift anything for at last five to six weeks. You have a big gap inside you and don't want things to go flump inside. The tiredness afterwards is considerable. I am only back gardening, lifting shopping, etc in July and my op was in April. Recommended the fb page hysterectomy sisters for a range of advice.

Thanks both of you, I wasn't expecting it til February but things are getting worse and they've obviously had a cancellation so I'm grabbing it!

How did you get on with your surgery? Hope all went well xxx

Thanks for asking, it was fine, I was a bit dodgy after anaesthetic (v low blood pressure and oxygen required for a few days) but I'm now 4 weeks post op. No bag required as bowel behaved so best case scenario really.
I feel ok as long as I take it steady, my lovely husband has been doing loads and keeps insisting I take my time and not pressure myself to get back to normal so I'm enjoying my recovery! But omg that first 💩 was like giving birth
